The Seed Shop

A garden on the shores of Saginaw Bay. Seeds worth sharing.

Our first release is in preparation. Browse the farm and join the opening list.

Grown here. Shared with care.

From raised beds on the Lake Huron shoreline comes an idea we’ve been cultivating for some time: a small, thoughtfully prepared selection of garden seeds, connected to the seasons and stories of Freighter View Farms.

We’re still harvesting, identifying and preparing seed lots. When a packet is ready for sale, its listing will explain what it contains, how to plant it, and how much is actually available.

A look around the garden

The photographs below are from our own garden. They show the place behind the seed shop, not a promise that any particular variety is currently available.

Grown by the water

From spring starts to summer harvests, our growing season is shaped by Saginaw Bay.

Harvest & seed saving

A small garden’s best lessons begin with paying attention to what grows.

The watercolor botanical library

Each illustration shows only the flower, vegetable or herb. These are illustration references, not products yet. When actual seeds are ready for sale, their listing will show a price, seed count, packing year, available packet quantity and a genuine checkout. The shipped packet will be a plain, text-labeled envelope—not the artwork shown here.

What to expect when the shop opens

01 / Clear varieties

Every live packet will be labeled with its verified identity and useful planting notes.

02 / Real inventory

Only finished, counted packets will be shown as available to order.

03 / Simple ordering

A straightforward cart, checkout and shipping process once the commerce system is ready.

The seed shop is not accepting orders yet.

We’re building the actual inventory and checkout system and will open only when individual seed lots are ready and verified. Until then, there’s no payment or preorder to make.

From the garden journal

While the shop takes shape, read the Seed Saving Guide, explore the Michigan Garden Planner, or browse the Garden Blog.

I’m Chris

Chris Izworski in the garden at Freighter View Farms

Freighter View Farms is my small raised-bed garden on Saginaw Bay: heirloom tomatoes, seed envelopes, spring trays under lights, and the slow work of learning one piece of ground.

Start here if you are new, or walk into the garden notes and see what the season is doing.
