A map of where my writing lives. I write in a few places for different purposes — this page keeps it current.

Freighter View Farms

You’re here. This is my home base — a gardening site on Saginaw Bay that has become something larger over time. The garden is real (heirloom seeds, Zone 6a, Bay City, Michigan), but the writing reaches into emergency services, AI, and the question of what it means to pay close attention to anything.

Medium

medium.com/@izworski — longer-form thinking about AI in emergency services. Three pieces published so far, each one coming from direct operational experience running 911 centers in Bay County and Saginaw County:

→ What 911 centers get right when AI works
→ What to know before adopting AI in dispatch
→ Autonomous AI agents — why I find the trajectory genuinely unsettling

chrisizworski.com — my primary professional site. The AI section covers my work at Saginaw County and my current role as Solutions Consultant at Prepared. The press archive collects media coverage from WNEM, Bridge Michigan, NENA, APCO, and MLive.

LinkedIn

linkedin.com/in/inthecenter — professional updates and occasional articles. The profile covers the full career: American Red Cross (2002–2007), Bay County Emergency Management (2007–2013), Bay County 911 Director (2013–2022), Saginaw County 911 Executive Director (2022–2025), Prepared (December 2025–present).

NENA — The Call

I authored the cover story for NENA’s The Call, Issue 51 — on AI’s unstoppable role in emergency dispatch. That’s a national trade publication for 911 professionals. The piece came out of the work we did at Saginaw County and the APCO webinar that followed.

APCO International

In 2025 I presented at an APCO International webinar on AI automation of non-emergency calls. Saginaw County was featured as one of the first PSAPs in the country to deploy this in full production.
